Children & Young People Area Conference - Wed 19th November 2008 Midland Hotel, Bradford
An important conference at which the priorities for Services to Children and Young People in the Bradford North Area will be discussed and from which the Bradford North Children and Young People’s Partnership will be formed. This will be the first Area-wide event under the new Locality structure and will provide a great opportunity for schools, health and all other providers of services to children and young people to work together.
Similar conferences will be held in all 5 Areas and there will be one central conference for District-wide services. This is the start of a comprehensive programme of consultation to inform the Children and Young People’s Plan 2009-2012. They will be looking at the analysis of need within the local area and will focus on how to improve local outcomes for children and young people. It is proposed to utilise the ‘Outcome Based Accountability’ or ‘Turning the Curve’ approach to determine actions to address priority issues. More information regarding this method will be made available at the conferences. Your professional expertise combined with your local knowledge will be invaluable in helping to determine how services for children, young people and their parents and carers are to be developed and improved within each Area and across the District.
The outcome of the events will be:
An increased understanding of priorities within the Area
Specific joint integrated actions to address identified priorities (to be included in the Children and Young People’s Plan)
The development of an Area Partnership
